Section Wise Preparation Tips

Qualifying SSC CGL exam demands a lot of dedication and efforts to score high than the cut off marks for each section. Also check SSC CGL Cut off completely before exams to keep better understanding of marks.

Time schedules, important topics can help you but if you don’t push yourself and put some extra efforts for exam preparation, you won’t be able to clear SSC CGL 2019 Exam.

  1. This section contains questions that are scoring and easy if you have good preparation.
  1. These questions are less time taking so you can either attempt them at first and solve the Quant questions later or you can take the reasoning section after solving the entire paper.
  1. Reasoning questions require the presence of mind instead of remembering formulas. To improvise your reasoning skills, you need to work on critical thinking and polish your concentration skills in order to attempt the tricky questions very easily.
  1. Scores of Reasoning Section plays a very important role in deciding the candidates’ merit in the exam, so it is advisable that you prepare well for reasoning.

Quantitative Aptitude

  1. To score high in Quantitative Aptitude Section you need to have a good command on all the shortcuts, tricks and mathematical formulas to solve QA questions.
  1. This section is time-consuming, so you need to master time management skills to solve the questions.
  2. You should have a proper strategy to attempt QA Questions in Exam. For this, it is important that you analyse the complete paper, get an idea of the nature of questions asked in the exam and try to avoid the long questions so that you can score by solving short time taking questions only.
  1. For this section, quality study matters more than quantity study.

General English

  1. English Section is a very scoring section if you have a command on Grammar. To score high in English, read newspapers, novels, magazines etc. Write down any new word you come across while going through them.
  1. You need to practice more to improve your Grammar and Vocabulary. To do so, try taking as many mock tests as you can to improve your English Skills.
  1. To improve your vocabulary, learn at least 10 new words daily and use them regularly.

General Awareness

  1. SSC CGL’s GA section contains questions mostly from history. So give more emphasis on Polity, History & General Science Paper.
  1. To polish your Current affairs section, go through current affairs of at least last 3 months.
